Sometimes we need to save the audio in a separate video file, either the background music in the video or the audio clip in the video. If we want to save this audio, is there an easy and effective way to do it?
The answer is: of course.
We can do this easily with YouTube Movie Maker, a powerful video editing software. In just three steps, you can extract audio from various video files and save it as WAV audio. After saving, you can edit and retouch the saved audio file.
In the Audio Mixer, double-click or right-click Add Audio to Here on the marked area, and then add the prepared video here.
Since the default file is an audio format, don’t forget to select the file type in the open window as a video format.
After adding the video file, we can see that the video file already appears in the window. Then click the Save to WAV button at the top of the window, and select the location where you want to save.
At this time the window will show the progress of work, the audio will be completed quickly. In this way, we extract a separate audio file from a video.
How’d it gone? Isn’t that pretty simple?
If you want to rip only one part of the video or add some effect to the extracted audio, that’s easy too. All we have to do is add the audio file we just ripped to the YouTube Movie Maker and edit it.
Close Audio Mixer and return to the software home screen. Click the red plus button in the upper left corner to add the audio to the software.
Then click Audio in the material category, Right Click on the Audio file you just added, and select Add Selected to > Audio 0 line.
In this way, we can manipulate the audio in the timeline below. Just right-click on the audio on the timeline and we’ll see many options on the menu. For example, split, cut, set fade-in and fade-out effects, delay effects, playback speed, channels, and so on. You can customize it as much as you want.
Audio extraction is just one of the features of YouTube Movie Maker. Also, it has all the features you need for video editing. For example, it includes editing, compositing, color mixing, green screens, and adding custom effects for Text/audio/video/images, etc. You can become familiar with it in practice and further develop your creativity.
